St. Ladislaus Catholic Church
Established 1919 Hamtramck, Michigan
Established in 1919. For many years, the church was located in the school building built in 1920 in the center of Hamtramck,
what is considered "Little Poland". The first pastor was Rev. Francis Bawja.
The parish was founded and developed because
of the large influx of Polish immigrants into Hamtramck that found work at the nearby automobile plants.
The cornerstone was laid in
1952 and the bulding was completed in 1953.
