Executive Offices, PGSM Board of Directors

Election of executive officers of the Polish Genealogical Society of Michigan by the membership of the Society are held in June each year.
The elected officers with descriptions of the responsibilities as defined in the Society constitution and by-laws are shown below.

PRESIDENT - is the chief executive officer of the Society who conducts all the meetings. He/she makes appointments and delegates assignments.

VICE-PRESIDENT assists the President. In the absence of the President, he/she temporarily assumes the duties of the President. If the President cannot complete the term of office, the Vice President automatically assumes the role of President. The Vice President chairs the Program Committee whose function is to plan and be responsible for the annual lecture series.

RECORDING SECRETARY records and reads all the minutes of the regular, Board and special meetings called by the President. He/she distributes copies of the minutes. The Recording Secretary assumes other secretarial duties requested by the President.

TREASURER – The Treasurer collects membership contributions, issues notices of payments due, makes bank deposits and maintains the financial records of the Society. He/she disburses funds as directed, pays bills, and reports on the financial status of the Society.

CORRESPONDING SECRETARY – The Corresponding Secretary is responsible for managing incoming and outgoing communications pertaining to the business of the Society.
